Qualifications: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, University of Queensland, 2014.
Throughout my studies at the University of Queensland, I gained valuable clinical experiences that set me up for pursuing a career working with children. This included a placement at the Royal Children’s Hospital where I worked with children with feeding difficulties. My studies also allowed me to support students at a primary school to assist them with the challenges they faced in the classroom. Meanwhile, I worked with children with autism through a home-care organisation.
I have worked with the Child Development Service at Queensland Health which has helped me to gain valuable experience in providing early childhood assessment and therapy to children with developmental delays and disabilities. I enjoy working with Boost Therapy and providing support within children’s home and school environments. I value early intervention and am driven to provide a holistic and family centred service. One of the things I love most about being an OT is being able to develop goals with children and their families and then create individualised therapy programs tailored to these. Seeing progress, whether small or big is very rewarding, and having the opportunity to help with this is wonderful. I am always looking to further my knowledge through workshops and training, and I place high value upon the skills I pick up from parents and teachers.
